Yup, it’s a bee hive

I jumped about 4 feet when I opened this pedestal up.  I was on my knees, right in front of it, and vioala, bee hive!!!  

Thank God it wasn’t active.  We’ve only had 1 or 2 warm days since November, so alot of our bugs aren’t active yet.  I’ve never seen a hive like that inside of something.  Normally they are the little cone’y ones, like would hang from our roof in Florida.  This is one of those “hit me and you may die” nests, like from that movie “My Girl”.
