So, I just got home from my mission trip to Beaufort, South Carolina. I have learned so much and this past week has been absolutely amazing. I have so much to say and that I want to talk about I am going to break it up into 2 or 3 parts.
Well, It was a group of 5 of us leaving and before I even left I had been blessed with money to help cover the expenses and food, which was great. We got on the rode after the father’s day picnic and it was a fun drive about 6 hours. We got their around 9 o’clock and it was scary we walked into a room full of youth and they just stared at us, I was already beginning to get worried about the week ahead of us. I sat down in a corner and listened to who was speaking. Once I got up to my room, Tim and Michelle’s(the youth leaders) daughter Hayley welcomed me right away she had even cleared a spot next to her air mattress for me to sleep. I have met her briefly before on her trips to FL. Their were about 9 girls in my room and I was the oldest, they were all in middle school or 9th grade.
Their were three churches there Calvary Chapel(ours), St.Helena’s(theirs), and then Kenwood Baptist( a super cool church from Cincinnati)
They split us up into 3 groups. The first group was running a Backyard bible/VBS thing for government owned housing in a really rough part of town, this is the group I was in.The second group was volunteering at a free local health clinic doing hard labor outside, planting a garden/yard work and painting. The third group was volunteering at a retirement home painting.
This is the first part.. its pretty boring and dull but I have to tell you guys the backround info to get to the good stuff
more to come
